THE COORDINATING Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment believes that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will become a reliable partner to invest in the construction of the new capital city of Indonesia (RI).
This was conveyed by the Deputy for Coordination for Investment and Mining at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Septian Hario Seto, following President Jokowi’s statement regarding three development sectors in Indonesia that could be prioritized for cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, including the construction of a new capital city.
“Of course, it’s good, if you look at Abu Dhabi, I think they have good financial power. I think they can be very good partners for the construction of the new capital city,” he said when contacted from Jakarta, Friday (11/5).
Seto added that the UAE is also expected to provide insight and experience in urban development. Dubai has become an international city. I think they can also provide insights, share experiences as well as how they develop (the city).
However, Seto did not reveal clearly about the value of the UAE’s investment commitment for the construction of the new capital city in East Kalimantan. The same applies to the scheme and the realization of the investment. We are waiting for the realization.
Previously, President Joko Widodo conveyed three development sectors in Indonesia that could be prioritized for cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE.
