REALIZATION OF TOURISM INVESTMENT IN 2021 TO REACH IDR14.9 TRILLION

THERE IS an increase in the realization of tourism investment in 2021 by IDR14.9 trillion and contributes to the realization of national investment by 3.36%. This is an achievement that Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy proud of.

According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in a hybrid year-end press conference (JPAT) 2021, Jakarta, Monday (12/27) said foreign investment reached IDR2.94 trillion from countries of origin, including Singapore, amounting to IDR1. 494.49 billion, England IDR202.26 billion, and France IDR144.74 billion.

“There are several types of businesses that have become places for planting, namely star hotels of IDR1,335.31 billion, restaurants and food service providers of IDR754.75 billion, and the provision of other short-term accommodations of IDR468.21 billion,” he said.

Minister Sandiaga added, while the top three destinations for foreign investment came from DKI Jakarta at IDR1,083.86 billion, Bali at IDR716.40 billion, and West Nusa Tenggara at IDR410.35 billion. Regarding domestic investment, it was recorded that it reached IDR11.96 trillion, with star hotels of IDR6,508.18 billion, tourism areas of IDR2,860.11 billion, and the provision of beverages of IDR882.33 billion being the highest in terms of type of business.

“Then the three largest destination areas are from Banten IDR2,512.80 billion, DKI IDR1,902.22 billion, and East Java IDR1,511.49 billion. On that occasion, Sandiaga also conveyed that the tourism foreign exchange value is predicted to touch the figure of US$0.47-1.7 billion in 2022.

He explained, next is the contribution of gross domestic product which is estimated to reach 4.3%, then the export value of creative economy products worth US$21.28 billion.

“(As for) the number of foreign tourists is always what we are after. But this time when we see the number in 2020 will reach 4.05 million people, in 2021 it is estimated that 1.5 million people, next year we will focus on 1.8-3.6 million,” Sandiaga remarked.

Furthermore, he relies on the movement of domestic tourists which is targeted to touch 260-280 million movements next year and the added value of the creative economy which reaches IDR1,236 trillion.

“(This is) what makes Indonesia now in the third position in the world after America with Hollywood and South Korea with K-pop,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
