43,000 PEOPLE IN-OUT OF INDONESIA THROUGH SOETTA INT’L AIRPORT IN A WEEK

A TOTAL of 4,184 foreign nationals entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) International Airport, Tangerang City, for the period 22-29 December 2021.

According to the Head of Information and Communication Technology of Immigration Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Habiburrahman during a press conference, said thousands of foreign nationals who came to Indonesia came from various countries such as China, Japan and South Korea. The details are 512 from China, 467 from Japan, 395 from South Korea. 340 from India, and 449 from Russia.

“Meanwhile, there were 17,833 Indonesian citizens who returned or returned to Indonesia at the same time. Thus, in total, there were 22,017 people who came from abroad and entered Indonesia in the past week,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the same period at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, there were 4,580 foreigners and 16,939 Indonesian citizens leaving Indonesia. Of that number, 581 people flew to China, 567 people went to Japan, and 375 people went to South Korea. A total of 229 people went to Thailand and 225 people to Malaysia.

“This means that if we count, there are 21,519 people, both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals who left Indonesia. If all of them came and went in total, it means that there were 43,536 people who arrived and departed from Soekarno-Hatta airport,” Habiburrahman remarked.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,402,009 people carry out activities in and out of Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, throughout 2021. The figure of 1.4 million people is divided into 732,706 people entering Indonesia and 669,303 people leaving Indonesia from Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Meanwhile, the Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Andhika Pandu Kurniawan, said that of the 732,706 people who came to Indonesia, 514,251 of them were Indonesian citizens and 218,455 foreign nationals.

“During 2021, the most Indonesian citizens who entered Indonesia, based on the data we have, have indeed been in the last three months and the peak was in December, which was 73,605 people,” said Andhika Pandu Kurniawan.

He explained that of the 218,455 foreign nationals who entered Indonesia, the highest number was last April, as many as 28,512 people. And the number of foreign nationals who entered Indonesia was at least at the beginning of the year or in January as many as 8,222 people.

According to him, at that time, level 4 community activity restrictions (PPKM) were implemented, which limited community mobilization because COVID-19 cases were high. The number of foreign nationals who came also decreased. At that time the number was only 10,299 people in April and 8,438 people in August.

Meanwhile, the number of Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals leaving Indonesia throughout 2021 was 449,184 and 220,119 people, respectively. Of the number of Indonesian citizens who left Indonesia, the highest number occurred since October, November, and December. Meanwhile, for foreign nationals leaving Indonesia, the highest number departing occurred in December.

“The number of Indonesian citizens who left Indonesia in October was 43,184, November 58,945 and the peak in December was 70,291 people. The highest number of foreign nationals leaving Indonesia was in December, with a total of 25,344 people today,” he noted

At the PPKM Emergency and PPKM Level 4, the number of foreigners leaving Indonesia was relatively high. When the Emergency PPKM was established, there were 21,708 foreign nationals who left Indonesia, while when PPKM Level 4 was implemented last August, the number was 15,474 people.
