THE INDONESIAN Motor Association (IMI) has prepared two cruise ships for the success of the Indonesian MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on March 18-20, 2022.
According to the General Chairman of IMI, Bambang Soesatyo, in addition to technical routes such as the provision of marshals, medical personnel, and others, IMI will also help make this prestigious event a success in terms of transportation and accommodation.
“Later on, two cruise ships will be used to carry MotoGP spectators from Bali to Mandalika and vice versa. The first ship uses the Ro-Ro Premium cruise ship, KMP Dharma Kencana VIII, as floating accommodation which is packaged like a cruise,” he said.
The capacity, said Bambang Soesatyo, reaches 600 passengers. The ship was once used as floating accommodation for a month at the XX/2021 National Sports Week event in Papua.
“Users of the Ro-Ro Premium cruise ship, KMP Dharma Kencana VIII can also get the IMI MotoGP Cruise package, 4 days 3 nights. It includes accommodation, sea transportation, land transportation, plus tickets to watch MotoGP,” said Bambang Soesatyo in official website, Wednesday. (2/09).
The ship will depart on March 18 2022 from the Pelindo Benoa port, he continued, Bali to the Pelindo Gili Mas port, Lombok. The ship then rests at the Pelindo Gili Mas Harbor on March 18-20 2022, the audience stays on the ship. Return to Bali on March 21, 2022.
“Then, the second ship uses a fast boat, which can take MotoGP spectators from Bali to Mandalika with a return route from Padang Bai Harbor, Bali to Gili Mas Harbor, Lombok. The sailing time is around 80-90 minutes, the capacity reaches 150 passengers,” he said.
Because the route goes back to Bali – Mandalika in one day, the package prepared is IMI MotoGP Mandalika ‘N Beyond, 4 Days 3 nights in Candidasa, Bali.
“On March 18, 2022, MotoGP spectators first check-in at Candidasa Bali. On 19-20, they can watch MotoGP Qualification Day and Race Day using a fast boat, PP from Bali to Lombok. On March 21, 2022, spectator’s check-out from Candidasa Bali,” said Bambang explained.
He added, both packages are very profitable for the audience. At the same time, it can provide a large economic multiplier effect, both for the people of Bali and the people of Lombok.
“The two packages give viewers more choice of accommodation. At the same time, it is very necessary for the success of the MotoGP event. Considering that the MotoGP audience is targeted to reach 100 thousand people. Meanwhile, the number of hotel rooms and similar inns in Lombok is still limited. Data from the Tourism Office of NTB, the number of hotel rooms in Lombok NTB, both star hotels and budget hotels have around 19,000 rooms.
