SINGAPORE AIRLINES RESUMES FIRST FLIGHT TO BALI ISLAND ON 16 FEBRUARY, 2022

SINGAPORE Airlines reactivated flights to Bali on Wednesday (2/16) making it the first foreign airline to fly to Bali after the Indonesian government opened Bali’s borders to foreign tourists.

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that this can be a momentum for economic revival and wider job creation, not only for the Balinese but for Indonesia as a whole.

According to the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Niscaya, in a written statement, said that the return of Singapore Airlines to Bali was one of the results of a strong collaboration between Singapore Airlines, the Ministry of Tourism, the Bali Regional Government, the Ministry of Transportation and other parties related.

“So, this will certainly increase the accessibility of foreign tourists to Indonesia, especially Bali, given the huge market demand to visit tourism destinations in Indonesia. This is also expected to increase the opportunities for stakeholders to rise and encourage the national economy through the tourism sector,” Nia said.

Nia said the flight departed from Singapore Changi International Airport on February 16, 2022 at 09.05 (Singapore time) and is scheduled to arrive at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 11.56 WITA, with 156 passengers, consisting of 109 foreigners and 47 Indonesian citizens.

“Singapore Airlines will operate seven flights a week between Singapore and Bali. The resumption of daily flights to Bali will facilitate SIA customers who wish to travel to and from Holiday Island Bali,” Nia remarked.

Furthermore, Nia explained, later tourists or foreign travel agents (PPLN) can take a warm up vacation package upon arrival in Bali, where this package is an innovation specifically designed for PPLN or tourists who have just come to Bali in order to undergo quarantine. in a hotel with a bubble system. So that it is possible for a person to be active not only in the room, but can carry out various activities in the bubble area specially prepared by the hotel manager.

“So, this is different from quarantine which is only in rooms. The warm up vacation program is carried out in hotels that implement a bubble system that is ready with health protocols in a disciplined manner,” Nia noted.

Meanwhile, General Manager of Indonesia Singapore Airlines, Alvin Seah, appreciated the Ministry of Tourism, Directorate General of Air Transportation, Angkasa Pura, and the Government of Bali, who have supported the re-activation of Singapore Airlines flights to Bali.

“We would like to thank the Ministry of Tourism, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Angkasa Pura, Bali Government, and all relevant authorities for their continuous support for SIA and good cooperation, so that we can continue to provide the best service to our customers. Indonesia continues to improve and remains under control so that the tourism industry can continue to improve,” said Alvin.
