300 AVIATION INDUSTRY LEADERS GATHER IN SINGAPORE ON MAY, 17-18

MORE than 300 world aviation industry leaders, policy makers and airline executives from 45 countries will gather at the Changi Aviation Summit 2022.

Organized by Civil Aviation Administration Singapore (CAAS) and Singapore’s Ministry of Transport, the Changi Aviation Summit will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center for two days, 17-18 May 2022.

The Changi Aviation Summit was attended by ministers of transportation from various countries, including the Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya, senior executives of civil aviation authorities, international organizations, as well as airport service providers, airlines, and aircraft manufacturers.

In this meeting, they will affirm their commitment to rebuilding international flight operations, in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

In addition, there will also be a panel discussion with speakers from the public and private sectors, about the problems faced in resurrecting the aviation industry after the Covid-19 pandemic, including the innovations that will be carried out.

Minister Budi Karya himself will be a panelist at the Changi Aviation Summit on Tuesday (5/17) with the theme Reviving Aviation Rebuilding Connection together with other panelists, such as the Malaysian Minister of Transport, Dr. Wee Ka Siong; CEO of Singapore Airlines, Goh Choon Pong; CEO of Narita Airport, Akihiro Tamura; and representatives of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

In addition, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya is also scheduled to meet with Boeing Senior Vice President, Michael A. Arthur and attend a sharing session with Airbus leadership.

“Their (Airbus and Boeing) agenda is to provide updates and how they help (the domestic aviation industry) recover after the pandemic,” said Transportation Ministry spokeswoman Adita Irawati. [sources/photo special]
