THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with the Indonesia Tourism Forum is believed to be the organizer of the 2022 Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting hybrid activity. Bali will host the 2022 Global Tourism Forum Annual Meeting which will be held on 17-18 November 2022, at the Movenpick Resort & Spa, Jimbaran with the theme “Time for Travel & Tourism – from Words to Actions”.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno at the weekly press briefing which took place in a hybrid manner at Gedung Sapta Pesona, Monday (10/31), said that four global figures would be invited to attend this meeting.
“We hope that they will be confirmed to attend, including the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan; the French President, Emmanuel Macron; the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez; the 2007-2016 UN Secretary General from South Korea, Ban Ki Moon,” said Minister Sandiaga Uno.
The Tourism Ministry hopes that this international forum will have an impact on increasing the world’s image and trust in Indonesia as a leading international MICE destination.
“We also hope to increase opportunities for cooperation and investment in the future so that it can produce multiplier effects that contribute to the national economy,” Sandiaga stated.
Meanwhile, Deputy for Tourism Products and Activities Organizers, Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani, who was present offline at the Sapta Pesona Building, said the 2022 GTF Annual Meeting will consist of a series of discussion panels, exhibitions, and B2B meetings (Tourism Investor Hall, Tourism CEO Club, and Indonesia Business Forum).
This event will bring together state leaders, ministers of tourism, the CEOs of the tourism industry, the travel industry, and the aviation industry from various countries to promote tourism in Indonesia. In addition, to increase network coverage for tourism industry players and the domestic creative economy.
“So, later at the 2022 GTF Annual Meeting there will be several sessions such as discussing investment, what tourism will look like in the future, and indeed the speaker from the CEO of the tourism industry, so what we see is from the business aspect. We hope that the context is actually only as the initial platform to inform our potential and in the future actually the emergence of new business and investment in Indonesia,” said Rizki.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Indonesia Tourism Forum, Sapta Nirwandar, said that the 2022 GTF Annual Meeting will be attended by 300 delegates from 50 countries such as Canada, Bulgaria, Tchad, Saudi Arabia, India, and so on.
“As Minister Sandiaga stated that this is one of the revivals of our tourism after two years. There will be CEOs from the tourism industry who will attend such as CEOs of Turkish Airline, business people, and investors,” said Sapta, who was present offline, at the Sapta Pesona Building.
Also present was the President of WTFI, Bulut Bagci, who was present online. He said WTFI would invite world investors to come and pay attention to the development of world tourism in an effort to revive it.
