PASSENGERS AT BALI’S AIRPORT INCREASE AS INT’L FLIGHT ROUTES ARE ADDED

THE ADDITION of a number of international flight routes at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport has increased the number of passengers served at the airport. Throughout 2023 until March, a total of 4,445,408 passengers have been served at Bali Airport or an increase of 179% when compared to the same period in 2022.

“The addition of international routes is one of the factors for the increase in passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali,” said General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali, Handy Heryudhitiawan in Badung Regency, Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

He said that currently I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has served 26 international flight routes operated by 32 airlines.

“In March there were additional destinations namely to Xiamen, China by Xiamen Air and Auckland, New Zealand, by Air New Zealand,” he said.

During March 2023, Bali Airport also recorded services to 1,511,772 air travelers both domestically and abroad. Furthermore: 30,844 aircraft movements with an average of 295 per day.

The number consists of 807,868 international passengers and 703,904 domestic passengers who passed through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport during March.

Handy Heryudhitiawan revealed that with the continued increase in international flight routes, he is optimistic that in the future flight conditions at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will improve.

“From the data we have, the number of aircraft movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali continues to increase. In March there were 10,261 movements, and overall in 2023 there were 30,844 aircraft movements with an average of 295 movements per day,” he said.

His party also continues to hold intensive discussions with various relevant stakeholders to add routes at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport. [sources/photo special]
