THE INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages all stakeholders in Labuan Bajo to focus on applying the concept of tourism sector sustainability resilience for the future in the face of disaster risk.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno when attending virtually the Destination Management Forum (DMF) series #4 which took place in Labuan Bajo, Thursday (04/13), 2023 explained, Labuan Bajo is the focus of the government and is included in the 5 Super Priority Tourism Destinations. For this reason, in the midst of current dynamics, it is very relevant to strengthen innovation, adaptation and collaboration.
“I hope that this activity will create quality and sustainable destination management in Labuan Bajo and NTT in general. So that it can be used as a concrete example to increase domestic and foreign market confidence,” he said.
Sandiaga also explained, as conveyed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), that the Indonesian government offers the world the concept of sustainable resilience as a solution to address the challenges of systemic risk in facing all forms of disasters, including facing pandemics while supporting the implementation of sustainable development.
“The concept of sustainable resilience in the tourism sector is the focus of the Indonesian government for the future in facing future disaster risks,” he said.
In addition, tourism and creative economy stakeholders must also need to innovate in various creative economy products. As an example of Indonesia’s readiness to welcome the new economic order.
“The innovation of ecraf products is clear evidence that Indonesia is able to play an important role in global economic recovery which prioritizes the concept of sustainability to encourage economic revival, create jobs, and open business opportunities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Acting Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Frans Teguh, explained that one of the focal points of tourism development is the effort to mobilize stakeholders to accelerate the development of priority tourism destinations.
“The destination development in question is carried out without being fixated on the boundaries of interests, which are summarized in a framework that becomes a tool in destination management, including Destination Management, Destination Governance, and Leadership to improve destination reputation,” he remarked.
Frans firmly believes that the importance of tourism development management from the beginning must be organized. So that the environment around tourist destinations is not damaged, including the social impacts caused. On the other hand, it is necessary to organize tourists to understand the concept of sustainable tourism so that they can protect each other.
“Tourism is everyone’s business, we can no longer do it alone. We must synergize together with various parties,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
