As part of his Asia tour preceding the grand opening of his Ubud-based restaurant, Syrco BASÈ, Chef Bakker is set to mesmerize diners with his extraordinary culinary creations, which blend Dutch, Indonesian, and Mediterranean influences.
After collaborating with the five-star establishment Four Seasons in Ubud and the well-known Modena in Jakarta, Chef Bakker will be showcasing his skills at the esteemed Capella Singapore, where Chef Bakker will join forces with Chef Alan Chan, Chinese Executive Chef of Cassia, for an exclusive two-night event at Cassia.
Guests will be treated to an exquisite six-course menu that showcases the harmonious marriage of Cantonese, Dutch, and Indonesian flavors. Chef Bakker’s Dutch-Indonesian heritage will take center stage in this unique collaboration, with dishes influenced by both his upbringing and his passion for culinary innovation. This remarkable collaboration is scheduled for 18 and 19 August 2023, offering a tantalizing preview of the culinary magic that will soon be unveiled at Syrco BASÈ.
Following the captivating collaboration with Capella Singapore, Chef Bakker’s journey continues to Capella Bangkok, where he will team up with Chef Davide Garavaglia at Côte by Mauro Colagreco. The epicurean adventure will unfold with an eight-course dinner that effortlessly marries the flavors of the French Riviera and the verdant paddy fields of Bali.
This extraordinary feast, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Chao Phraya River, promises to be a celebration of sustainably sourced ingredients and the chefs’ deep connection to their culinary roots. This exceptional collaboration will take place on 25 and 26 August 2023, promising a culinary experience like no other.
