PT ANGKASA Pura I (AP1) noted that it had served 451 reactivations and openings of new flight routes during the period January to October 2023. This number jumped 153% compared to the same period in 2022 which only served 178 reactivations and openings of new routes.
Of the total routes in the period January to October 2023, there are 323 reactivations of domestic routes and 84 international routes, as well as the opening of 28 new domestic routes and 16 new international routes.
“During the January-October 2023 period, AP1 airports served a very significant number of route reactivations and the opening of new routes. This then supported the increase in passenger and aircraft movements at our airports. Of course, this is a positive thing for operational performance company in 2023,” said AP1 President Director Faik Fahmi.
AP1 recorded the first quarter of 2023 as the period with the highest number of route reactivations and route openings, namely with 320 domestic route reactivations and 83 international routes, as well as 3 new domestic route openings and 10 new international routes.
Entering the second quarter of 2023, AP1 noted that there was 1 reactivation of domestic routes, as well as the opening of 11 new domestic routes and 2 new international routes.
For the third quarter of 2023, there will be 2 reactivations of domestic routes and 1 international route, as well as the opening of 14 new domestic routes and 4 new international routes. Meanwhile, for October, there will be no reactivation or opening of new routes at AP1 airports.
In the January-October 2023 period, the three airports that serve the most route reactivations and new route openings are I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Bali with 66 domestic routes and 66 international routes, Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin Airport with 87 domestic routes and 4 international routes, and Juanda Airport Surabaya with 73 domestic routes and 15 international routes.
