THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) and PT Teknologi GoVirtual Indonesia (GoVirtual) will launch the MICE.id platform.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in Jakarta, Monday (03/18), 2024, explained that MICE.id is a public information reference platform and business meeting/MICE ecosystem in efforts to digitize and inventory databases in the MICE industry in Indonesia. This platform is one of the policy developments and strategic steps for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
“MICE.id will become a reference for information regarding MICE in Indonesia and accelerate the coordination and collaboration process for MICE stakeholders, both from within and outside the country,” said Sandiaga.
Meanwhile, the Ministry’s Business Development Expert Staff, Masruroh, added that MICE.id will also have a Pre Schedule-Appointment (PSA) feature to support B2B trade show events. So, when trade show exhibition organizers in Indonesia need a B2B platform with a PSA system, which is what trade shows in other countries do, they can use it on MICE.id, for free.
Likewise, the General Chairperson of PHRI, Haryadi B.S. Sukamdani, welcomed the collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Go Virtual. He explained that PHRI is collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in terms of sharing member data and facilities owned by PHRI as an association of hotels and restaurants in Indonesia.
PHRI has more than 3,000 hotel members throughout Indonesia, with a comprehensive data platform, starting from room and meeting room types, availability, a database that is always up to date, to ease of transactions.
“And we can collaborate with bookingina.com as a marketplace platform for booking meeting rooms that are integrated with the LKPP program. So, the data could also be better for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, because we have live data, later regarding the issue of how many meeting rooms are used, everything can be taken,” Hariyadi remarked.
Meanwhile, the Director of GoVirtual, Bobby Chen, said that the form of collaboration carried out between GoVirtual and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy includes sharing visual data on hotels and venues, as well as other supporting features; to promoting MICE.id to GoVirtual partners.
“We are helping to strengthen MICE.id’s data base through a virtual tour equipped with a multilingual Virtual AI Assistant. Because usually when venues provide data to their clients, it is only in the form of photos, videos or e-brochures sent manually via email or WhatsApp,” he noted.
Bobby concluded that therefore, with a virtual tour that includes all facilities such as room types, meeting room parking areas, outdoor areas and also access around the venue, it will make it easier for clients to search and find the right venue. [traveltext.id]
