IT WAS revealed that the manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy was the main capital in efforts to successfully develop regenerative tourism in Bali.
According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, at the launch of the Cultural Exhibition entitled Water Civilization at Tirta Empul Temple, Bali, said that the expected direction of Indonesian tourism in the future is regenerative tourism, a concept that also accommodates sustainable tourism.
“When we talk about sustainable tourism, the focus is on doing less harm. But when we talk about regenerative tourism we want to do better,” said Angela.
This means that the presence of tourism is not only an economic source but more than that. Tourism is present as a source of encouragement for life for all. Striving for the welfare of local destinations, the environment and the communities within them.
This is in line with the principle of life adhered to by the Balinese people regarding Tri Hita Karana, which builds harmonious relationships between humans and God, with each other, and with nature.
“So, before we got to know the concept of regenerative tourism, Bali had already embraced this concept, Tri Hita Karana,” said Angela.
Based on this, Quantum Temple is collaborating with the Wonderful Indonesia Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Manukaya Let Village, the Gianyar Regency Tourism Office and Sui Network to present a blockchain-based cultural exhibition entitled “Water Civilization” at Tirta Empul Temple, a UNESCO world cultural heritage site.
“It’s extraordinary that there is a platform based on blockchain technology to support regenerative tourism. We know that the young generation is adaptive to technology,” Angela remarked.
The “Water Civilization” exhibition which will take place from April to September 2024 offers a unique experience for tourists as well as increasing insight into Tirta Empul Temple. Of course, this exhibition involved 300 young people and creative communities who contributed to creating unique and interesting installations made from bamboo.
The installation was led by two young artists from Tampak Siring, namely Ida Bagus Nyoman Surya Wigenem and I Gusti Ngurah Dalem Rahmadi. In this installation, visitors can enjoy digital archive exhibitions from time to time so they can learn more about the essence of water in Balinese civilization and the history of Tirta Empul Temple.
Visitors are also given the opportunity to chat directly with temple conservationists from Manukaya Let Village to gain in-depth knowledge about the spiritual meaning of melukat activities.
“Of course, we hope that this will not stop here, but that more and more will be accommodated on this platform. And not only in Bali but throughout Indonesia,” Angela noted.
Meanwhile, CEO and Founder of Quantum Temple, Linda Adami, said that her party has a mission to bring regenerative tourism by involving local communities through cutting-edge technology. So that the impacts obtained are recorded transparently.
“We hope that the impact of this initiative can be felt by the current and future generations,” said Linda.
