THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy discussed investment opportunities and potential cooperation with the United Arab Emirates to bring world-class events to Indonesia (RI).
During his visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday (05/08), Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, met with the CEO of Nirvana Travel & Tourism, Alaa Al Ali, to discuss the potential for cooperation and investment in Indonesia’s tourism and creative sector. One of the potentials explored at this meeting is the hosting of world-class events in Indonesia.
“(This meeting) follows President Jokowi’s direction to invite world-class events to Indonesia with ongoing cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, so we invite Nirvana to invest in Indonesia to create an ecosystem for world-class events such as AIM (Arabian Investment Meeting) Congress and Arabian Travel Mart, as well as sports, MICE, music, arts and cultural activities,” Sandiaga said.
In addition to meeting with representatives from Nirvana Travel & Tourism, Sandiaga also met with representatives from ADQ, a United Arab Emirates investment company. During the meeting, Minister Sandiaga invited ADQ to invest in Indonesia to invest in Indonesia in order to develop the potential of the tourism and creative economy sector in the country.
Sandiaga said that ADQ is very interested in investing in various sectors in Indonesia, especially related to the preparation of tourism and creative infrastructure in Indonesia. “(This investment) is mainly related to tourism infrastructure and creative economy, it is also related to the tourism ecosystem starting from airport infrastructure to construction and various large-scale investment opportunities,” he said.
Seeing the commitment achieved in the two meetings, Sandiaga hopes that this can further develop the tourism and creative sector in Indonesia, especially in terms of opening up business and employment opportunities.
“So, we hope that these two strategic meetings will be able to achieve concrete results to bring in more investments and open up opportunities for world-class events to be held in Indonesia,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
