PT ANGKASA Pura II, which manages Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport (SSK) II Pekanbaru, has launched daily flights on the Pekanbaru (PKU)-Medan (KNO)-Pekanbaru (PKU) route via the airline Super Air Jet starting June 1, 2024.
According to the Executive General Manager (EGM) of SSK II Pekanbaru Airport, Radityo Ari Purwoko, explained that this flight will serve passengers every day, especially for the tourist and business segment traveling between these two major cities.
“We are very pleased to welcome the new Super Air Jet route at SSK II Pekanbaru Airport. The opening of the Pekanbaru-Kualanamu route not only expands the flight network to and from Pekanbaru, but is also expected to make a positive contribution to the regional economy, especially in the tourism and business sectors,” he said recently.
He explained that the Super Air Jet flight on the PKU-KNO-PKU route would be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of up to 180 passengers. This daily flight schedule will provide passengers with flexibility in planning their trips for both business and leisure purposes. In line with this new flight, SSK II Pekanbaru Airport will continue to improve service and comfort for passengers.
“We are committed to continue to innovate and work with various parties, especially airlines, to add and develop more routes in the future so that we can provide more destination choices for airport service users,” he remarked.
It is hoped that the new flight will increase passenger traffic at the airport and have a positive impact on the local economy. [sources/photo special]
