THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy organizes the 9th Edition of Thinc Indonesia in Bali, which has initiated the largest conference and networking in the hospitality industry.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, while speaking at the event “The 9th Edition of Thinc Indonesia in Bali Fireside Chat Session” in Bali, Wednesday (8/07), 2024, said that this event will encourage more investors to invest their capital to support the development of sustainable and quality tourism, especially in Bali.
“Success for Thinc and hopefully it can present quality and sustainable investment in the tourism sector,” said Sandiaga.
At the event, Sandiaga explained various investment opportunities that can be done in Bali’s tourism industry. He explained that the increase in foreign tourist arrivals to Bali in 2024 has grown over 20%. Until now, the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali has been over 21 thousand. However, the government’s homework is to distribute tourists evenly so that overtourism does not occur.
“Well, don’t let it happen like in Barcelona where tourists become a common enemy, we want to keep it conducive because I have talked to several hotel associations, the occupancy has improved. But we have to maintain it so that they have the best experience,” Sandiaga stated.
Now, the government is also building an MRT project in Bali, which is expected to be a solution to ease traffic congestion, especially in several areas in South Bali.
In addition, the government is also building the Banyuwangi-West Bali (BBB) link, which is expected to be a lure to increase tourist visits to the district on the eastern tip of Java Island. The hope is that tourists will first land in Banyuwangi and then continue their journey to Bali, or vice versa.
“The homework now is to spread foreign tourist visits to Bali to other areas outside of South Bali. We hope this can be done through investment development assistance in West Bali, North Bali and also East Bali,” said Minister Sandiaga.
In addition, the golden visa policy just launched by President Jokowi, according to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, can now be an attraction for investors to work and invest in Indonesia.
“The existence of the golden visa service can improve tourism facilities and the digital economy, which will have a positive impact on domestic tourism,” Sandiaga concluded. [traveltext.id]
