THE 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has completely surrendered the dreams, hopes and great ideals of the Indonesian nation to President Prabowo Subianto. Speaking at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta before returning to Solo, Central Java, on Sunday (10/20), 2024, Jokowi said not all challenges could be solved during his administration.
“We cannot do everything. Therefore, I convey to the president, I completely surrender the dreams, hopes and great ideals of the 280 million Indonesian people to the president, retired TNI General Prabowo Subianto,” he said.
According to Jokowi, the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration era is facing a very big state task with all the existing problems.
In addition, Jokowi said, President Prabowo and his staff must also accommodate all the great wishes and ideals of the people, which are very numerous. And may he be given health and strength to lead this very large country.
On this occasion, Jokowi also delivered his final message to the Indonesian people to always live-in harmony to build the nation.
“Harmonious, united, embracing, building this country. As conveyed by President Prabowo,” he said.
Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka took the oath of office as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the term 2024-2029 at the plenary session of the Indonesia People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Sunday.
A total of 732 members of MPR RI witnessed the swearing-in ceremony. The plenary session of the MPR RI was also attended by national figures, leaders of political parties and representatives of friendly countries. [antaranews]
