FOR the first time in Indonesia, PATA Indonesia Chapter is proud to host the “International Day of Education (IDE) 2025”, an initiative to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
According to Poernomo Siswoprasetijo, President/CEO, PATA Indonesia Chapter said, with themed “The Power of Youth in Building the Future of Learning,” the event aims to empower the younger generation to create an inclusive, relevant and sustainable future for education.
“International Education Day, which is celebrated annually on January 24, will be celebrated in 2025 in collaboration with LSPR Institute of Communication and Business, supported by various institutions and 20 universities and several Tourism Polytechnics,” he said.
Poernono explained that IDE 2025 will also highlight current issues surrounding the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. Through panel discussions and interactive sessions, the event will address: Challenges in integrating AI into inclusive and equitable education systems.
Opportunities for AI to improve access, personalization, and efficiency in learning.
“And also, for Strategies to ensure that AI technology supports SDG 4 without marginalizing vulnerable groups,” he added.
To advance the achievement of SDG 4 and strengthen the global commitment to quality education, IDE 2025 will present programs designed to: (1). Improve access and equity in education through discussions and interactive dialogues, (2). Promote innovation in learning that fosters skills development and creativity, (3). Facilitate cross-generational and cross-sectoral collaboration for sustainable education solutions.
” IDE 2025 is an important step in reaffirming Indonesia’s commitment to supporting quality education for all. We believe that through the active participation of young people, we can build a stronger and more sustainable foundation for future learning,” he affimed.
International Education Day 2025 is a historic moment for Indonesia. It reflects PATA Indonesia’s initiative to host this global celebration for the first time, showcasing our commitment to SDG 4 and promoting the country’s top tourism destinations (focusing on the 5 Super Priority Destinations) on the world stage. By empowering youth and fostering cross-sector collaboration, IDE 2025 will create meaningful opportunities for education and sustainable tourism.
