AS OF MARCH 15, LION AIR & CITILINK WILL MOVE TO TERMINAL 1, SOETTA AIRPORT

ALL LOW-cost carrier (LCC) flights, including Lion Air, Citilink, AirAsia Indonesia and Super Air Jet, have officially moved to Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta (Soetta) Airport. The policy, which will take effect on March 15, 2025, aims to reduce passenger density and optimize the operations of all terminals at the airport.

Earlier, the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports, Faik Fahmi, said that this relocation is part of the airline’s efforts to rebalance Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“The Terminal 1 revitalization and beautification project has reached 30% progress, and we are aiming to complete it in August 2025. After that, Terminal 1 will look different than before,” Faik said recently.

Likewise, Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s deputy director for communication and legal affairs, M. Holik Muardi, explained that Terminal 1 will be gradually reopened with the completion of the revitalization.

“The basis is because there is re-balancing at Soetta Airport, which we know that Terminal 1, which has just been operating is Terminal 1A,” said Holik, Friday (02/28), 2025.

Currently, the revitalization of Terminal 1 is still ongoing, with the main focus on the completion of Terminal 1C, which is scheduled for completion in December 2025. Thus, by the end of 2025 or early 2026, all terminals at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are expected to be able to operate optimally.

“So that later Terminals 1, 2 and 3 will all be operational. Passenger and flight services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be able to operate optimally,” Holik added.

For information, Citilink has announced changes to flight services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Citilink’s domestic flights will be relocated to Terminal 1B, while international flights will be relocated to Terminal 2F. This will be effective from March 15, 2025.

Meanwhile, Lion Air has already moved its domestic flights from Terminal 2E to Terminal 1A as of December 14, 2025. With this move, it is hoped that the operations of Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be more organized and the passenger experience will be more comfortable and efficient. [sources/photo special]
