THE MINISTRY of Tourism, in cooperation with various industries and supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Melbourne, once again participated in The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Events (AIME) 2025 in Melbourne, Australia from February 10 to 12, 2025 and recorded potential transactions of IDR155 billion.
“Indonesia’s participation in the largest B to B MICE exhibition in Australia is one of our efforts together with the industry to continue to strengthen the development of the tourism sector, especially MICE as one of the backbones to boost tourist visits to Indonesia,” said Deputy for Development of Event Organizers (Events) of the Ministry of Tourism, Vinsensius Jemadu, in his statement, Friday (03/7), 2025.
AIME Melbourne 2025 is the largest MICE exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region with more than 4,500 visitors and 700 exhibitors. It also hosted more than 20,000 meetings.
Through the Indonesian Pavilion as a common home, 16 industries from Bali and Riau Islands consisting of accommodation/hotel industry, stand-alone venues and DMCs promoted various tourism destinations and MICE facilities in Indonesia with locations in Bali, Batam, Bintan and Jakarta.
The 16 Indonesian tourism industry participants were Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection & The Meru Sanur; The Mulia Resort & Villas Nusa Dua; The Apurva Kempinski Bali; Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa; Melia Bali; W Bali; Merusaka Nusa Dua; Movenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran; Holiday Inn Resort Baruna; Courtyard by Marriott; Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center; Melali MICE & DMC; Desa Potato Head; Panbil Hospitality Group Batam; Montigo Resort; and Bintan Resort.
The delegates met with various MICE industry players from around the world to strengthen cooperation and raise awareness of Indonesia’s tourism potential.
The Indonesian tourism industry met with an average of 18-30 potential partners at AIME 2025. In addition to partners from Australia, industry players also met with partners from China, Canada, the United States, Singapore, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand and others.
Based on the data collected, there is an estimated potential transaction of more than IDR 155 billion. This amount has increased from the potential achievement of participation in the same event last year of IDR 56 billion.
“There is an estimated potential for foreign tourist visits of more than 24,096 pax, an increase from the potential achievement of the previous year which reached 1,579 pax,” said Vinsen.
This positive performance is expected to strengthen the tourism sector’s target of reaching 14.6-16 million foreign tourist visits this year, tourism contribution to GDP of 4.6%, foreign exchange of US$19-22.1 billion, and the number of tourism workers of 25.8 million people.
“By participating in the AIME 2025 exhibition, the Ministry of Tourism hopes to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia and increase the contribution of the tourism sector, especially MICE, to the national economy,” concluded Vinsensius Jemadu. [traveltext.id]
