THE INDONESIAN of Tourism Ministry is cooperating with the Qatar Airways, to work together in an effort to expand the promotion and marketing of Indonesian (RI) tourism in the global market.
According to the Deputy for Marketing of the Ministry of Tourism Ni Made Ayu Marthini, in her statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (05/2), 2025, expressed her enthusiasm for this strategic cooperation. She said that this MoU became a form of commitment to increase Indonesia’s visibility and attractiveness as a tourism destination around the world.
“This cooperation is expected to increase the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia, which will ultimately contribute to increasing the country’s income and foreign exchange from the tourism sector and create jobs. Currently, we are focusing on developing quality and sustainable tourism to attract more quality tourists,” Made said.
The agreed cooperation was marked by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Tourism and Qatar Airways on Monday (04/28), 2025 on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 event held at the Dubai World Trade Center.
The MoU was signed by Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy Director of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, and Matt Raos, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Qatar Airways.
This cooperation includes several important initiatives, including collaboration on tourism promotion activities in key markets of mutual focus; direct marketing to consumers to reach a wider audience; and marketing involvement through participation in tourism exhibitions and other promotional events.
It also includes product training for the industry to increase the knowledge and expertise of travel agents in promoting Indonesia; the development of innovative and attractive tourism products for international tourists; and the development of creative and effective promotional content for various platforms and other cooperation that can be carried out according to the agreement of both parties.
Made explained that Qatar Airways is one of the world’s leading airlines with an extensive global network. In addition to being a world hub, which according to data serves more than 90 million passengers every year to 80 countries and 172 cities worldwide.
This is a huge potential to increase international tourist visits to Indonesia from all over the world through Qatar Airways flight to Indonesia.
“The signing of the MoU is also expected to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a chosen tourist destination and increase the number of foreign tourist visits, which will have a positive impact on the national economy,” Made affirmed.
Meanwhile, Qatar Airways Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Matt Raos, welcomed the cooperation. He described Indonesia as a strategic partner.
“We are proud to support the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism in promoting the country’s extraordinary tourism potential.
