MINISTRY REMINDS TOURISTS TO UPHOLD THE CONSCIOUS VALUE OF TRAVELING

THE MINISTRY of Tourism reminds all tourists to uphold the conscious value of traveling so that every tourist destination in Indonesia remains sustainable and not damaged as well as the surface of the Borobudur temple, which is now experiencing problems with gum.

According to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa when met after attending the “Ngoprek” event in Jakarta, Wednesday (05/15), said this was actually, I said that conscious tourism was not only owned by actors in the tourism industry, but also we in general. Indonesian people must also have a consciousness of tourism in themselves.

“Responding to the surface of the Borobudur temple attached by a lot of chewing gum, I emphasize that the conscious value of travel will encourage people to better appreciate historical and cultural relics in tourist destinations,” he said.

Luh explained that the restoration of tourist destinations must be done together, without relying on local community groups.

In this case, Ni Luh explained that the government through the Ministry of Tourism had moved through the existence of a superior program, namely the Clean Tourism Movement (GWB), which aims to increase the competitiveness of Indonesia’s safer and healthier tourist destinations for tourists.

“Preservation or recovery can also be done together, for example, why are we doing a clean tourism movement? Because this is the way we reactivate the community base (community-based),” he said.

He also urged the whole community to keep the Borobudur temple sustainable by maintaining attitudes when visiting, including respecting the ancestral relics by not doing irresponsible actions.

“About that (Borobudur attached by chewing gum) which I invite again, let’s all be aware of tourism. If we want our destinations to be good, yes, we have to take care of it,” Ni Luh said.

arlier, Ni Luh also stressed that Borobudur Temple is under the supervision of the Indonesian government with UNESCO, and the world is paying more attention to the sustainability of the destination.

He believes that the development continues to be carried out around the temple by the Borobudur Authority Agency (BOB) can support the number of tourist visits to the religious destination. It is known that there are more than 3 thousand chewing gum found on the surface of the Borobudur temple. This encourages the government to limit the number of tourist visits to the temple area.

“The number of visits is limited to 1,200 visits per day. The purpose of implementing the regulation is to protect the temple structure from the pressure and friction, as well as to maintain its sustainability,” Ni Luh said. [traveltext.id]
