SINCE its establishment on September 9, 2024, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Injourney Airports) has effectively advanced the development of national airports.
“The formation of Injourney Airports was the result of a merger between PT Angkasa Pura I and II with the objective of eliminating constraints in the airport sector that had proven difficult to overcome,” stated Injourney Airports President Director Mohammad R Pahlevi in his official statement on Monday (09/15), 2025.
He considered this merging policy to be an appropriate step because the presence of injury airports helped accelerate the development of airports through transformation to support economic and tourism growth.
Injouney Airports, an established operator of 37 airports in Indonesia, has implemented a year-long transformation to enhance airport services. The transformation of the airport is intended to establish it as a symbol of the nation’s pride.
Pahlevi explained that they carry out transformations in the premises or infrastructure, then transform world-class airport staff and ecosystem-based processes or operations.
He revealed that this transformation was accompanied by the concept of providing wholehearted service to all aircraft passengers and airport service users.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport and I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport are two airports designated as pilot projects for the transformation program. The initial stage of transformation at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is to beautify Terminal 3 with the concept of tropical forests. This initiative has been met with gratitude by various stakeholders, including airplane passengers.
In addition, Injourney Airports opened a special Hajj and Umrah 2F terminal, which was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on May 4, 2025. The terminal aims to ensure that Umrah and Hajj pilgrims receive the best possible service while traveling for worship.
In addition, Injourney Airports has successfully reopened Terminal 1C following a comprehensive revitalization project that incorporates a modern design aesthetic while respectfully acknowledging the cultural heritage of the archipelago. The IC terminal commenced operations on August 22, 2025, with the objective of providing passenger services.
Pahlevi stated that Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s success as a pilot project in the transformation program is also contributing to the accelerated development of other airports.
In line with the development carried out, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has been recognized as one of the 100 best airports in the world. In 2025, it achieved a significant improvement in its ranking, rising to the 25th position from the previous year’s 28th. Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport has also been awarded a 4-star rating by Skytrax.
Meanwhile, the airport is undergoing a transformation, including infrastructure optimization in the passenger terminal area and the area outside the terminal on the land side.
Rearrangements are being made in the terminal area to optimize the airport’s capacity. The goal is to increase the number of passengers from the original 24 million per year to 32 million. Regarding the external area of the terminal on the land side, the expansion of road access and the arrangement of vehicle flow are essential.
In addition, Injourney Airports is adding various facilities, such as a water park at the Aesthetic and Magnificent Domestic Departure Terminal (JPO) construction to connect the terminal building with a motorized vehicle parking building.
The JPO building area is equipped with a pickup point designed with passenger comfort in mind. The passenger terminal has undergone a comprehensive reorganization and beautification initiative, encompassing the introduction of green hues and the incorporation of Balinese architecture patterns.
This transformation confirmed the ranking of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport rose to 72nd position from the previous 74th in the list of 100 best airports in the world released by Skytrax. Injury Airports is proud to announce that it has received 27 prestigious Airports Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2024 for customer experience at 10 airports.
The ten airports include Yogyakarta International Airport, Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Sams Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, Pattimura Airport in Ambon, Supadio Airport in Pontianak, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang, and Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang.
