THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism is striving to attract tourists from Macau to visit Indonesia and strengthen the presence of “Wonderful Indonesia” in the East Asia region through the Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) 2026.
“This participation aims to raise awareness of Indonesian tourism, which is currently transforming into sustainable tourism,” said Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday (04/13), 2026.
Made stated that Indonesia’s presence at MITE 2026 demonstrates its commitment to promoting sustainable tourism globally. This participation is a strategic step to promote a new face of Indonesian tourism that focuses on quality and sustainability.
Furthermore, the presence of the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion at MITE 2026 reflects the synergy between the Ministry of Tourism, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong and Macau, and the national airline Garuda Indonesia for China, Hong Kong, and Greater China.
