AIR New Zealand (NZ) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) will significantly expand their joint network between New Zealand and Singapore for the Northern Winter 2026 operating period, which runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027.
This expansion includes increased capacity to Auckland and the launch of new Air New Zealand non-stop flights to Christchurch, which will complement SIA’s existing service.
These additional services reflect both airlines’ commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel between New Zealand and Singapore, as well as to key markets in Asia and Europe. Customers will benefit from seamless connectivity, more flexible travel options, and premium travel options across both airlines’ shared network.
Air New Zealand will launch three weekly flights between Singapore and Christchurch during the Northern Winter 2026 operating period, using Boeing 787 aircraft. Combined with SIA’s existing 12-week service to Christchurch, the two airlines will operate a total of 15 weekly flights during the peak period from November 2026 to February 2027.
Air New Zealand will also add four weekly flights to Auckland using Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft. Meanwhile, SIA will adjust its flight schedule from three flights daily to twice daily. During the Northern Winter 2026 operating period, SIA will also operate the Airbus A380 on daily services SQ285 and SQ286, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER.
SIA’s Airbus A380 has 471 seats in four cabin classes: six Suites, 78 Business Class, 44 Premium Economy Class, and 343 Economy Class. This aircraft will provide greater travel comfort for customers.
The A380 will also help meet travel demand between New Zealand and Singapore, as well as to other key markets on SIA’s network via Singapore. Customers will continue to benefit from increased overall seat capacity and expanded travel options across the joint Air New Zealand and SIA network. [sources/photo special]
