TRANSNUSA is expanding its flight network from Bali by launching a direct round-trip route between Denpasar (DPS) and Surabaya (SUB), effective September 21, 2026.
This new route offers an additional direct connection between Bali and East Java and is part of the development of TransNusa’s domestic network from Denpasar, one of the airline’s key operational bases.
TransNusa Group CEO Datuk Bernard Francis stated that the addition of the Denpasar-Surabaya route is part of the airline’s ongoing effort to expand its domestic network, with Bali serving as a pivotal point in this growth strategy.
“We are constantly exploring ways for TransNusa to grow by adding connections that are relevant to domestic travel. Surabaya is the latest addition to our network from Bali, expanding the range of destinations directly accessible to our customers. We will continue to evaluate and develop our network gradually, with Bali remaining a crucial base for TransNusa’s expansion in Indonesia,” he said in a press release on Tuesday, (9/22), 2026.
The Denpasar–Surabaya route will commence operations on September 21, 2026, with a frequency of one flight per day. Flight 8B-5376 departs from Denpasar at 18:05 and arrives in Surabaya at 18:10 local time.
In the opposite direction, flight 8B-5377 departs from Surabaya at 18:50 and arrives in Denpasar at 20:55 local time. Starting October 10, 2026, TransNusa will add another flight frequency to the route, resulting in two daily flights in each direction.
The additional flight, 8B-5370, departs from Denpasar at 07:10 and arrives in Surabaya at 07:05 local time. Meanwhile, flight 8B-5371 from Surabaya is scheduled to depart at 07:35 and arrive in Denpasar at 09:25 local time.
This increase in frequency offers morning and afternoon travel options, allowing customers to tailor their flight schedules to their specific travel needs.
The network expansion to Surabaya further strengthens Bali’s role within TransNusa’s growing network. As one of the airline’s operational bases, Denpasar serves as a crucial hub for connecting Bali to various destinations across Indonesia and the wider region.
From Bali, TransNusa currently serves destinations such as Jakarta, Manado, Lombok, Bima, Wakatobi, Waingapu, Singapore, Perth, Guangzhou, and Phuket.
The introduction of the Surabaya–Bali route enhances TransNusa’s domestic connectivity from Denpasar while providing more travel options for those wishing to travel between Bali and one of East Java’s key economic centers.
“This network development is part of TransNusa’s strategy to gradually expand its flight coverage, whether by adding new routes or increasing frequencies on existing ones. Consequently, the expansion of connectivity from Bali encompasses not only domestic destinations but also maintains links to various cities across the region,” he added.
