This initiative aims to bring visa application services closer to applicants residing in eastern and northern Indonesia.
This new service allows applicants to submit their visa applications and provide biometric data in their respective cities, eliminating the need to travel to Jakarta for the application process. The initiative enhances accessibility and convenience while reducing the time and cost associated with travel.
Applicants can schedule an appointment for the Mobile Visa Application Centre service in their preferred city when submitting their Netherlands visa application online. The Mobile Visa Application Centre service for the Netherlands will be available once a month in Makassar, Medan, and Ambon through December 2026. According to Anjali Pahladsingh, Head of Consular Affairs at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jakarta, stated that the introduction of Mobile Visa Application Centre services in Makassar, Medan, and Ambon reflects their ongoing efforts to expand access to visa services for applicants across Indonesia.
“By reducing the need to travel to Jakarta, we hope to provide a more convenient visa application experience while ensuring the integrity and efficiency of the visa process,” said Anjali.

Please note that the Mobile Visa Application Center services in Makassar, Medan, and Ambon are optional services designed for applicant convenience and are available for an additional fee.
Choosing this service does not affect the outcome or the visa application process itself. Visa decisions remain the sole authority of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Indonesia.
Applicants who do not wish to use the Mobile Visa Application Center service may still book an appointment at the regular Netherlands Visa Application Centres located in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali.
Applicants are advised to submit their visa applications up to six months prior to their planned travel date. The average visa processing time is 25 calendar days, although in certain cases, the process may take up to 45 calendar days.
