MINISTER of Investment and Downstreaming, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani stated that an investment of up to IDR13,000 trillion is required to boost economic growth to 8%.
“For the next five years, the investment target to achieve that 8% growth is over IDR13,000 trillion,” Rosan said in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/07), 2026.
According to him, realized investment in Indonesia continues to rise; previously, the contribution of investment averaged between 28 and 29%.
“Currently, the contribution from investment is approaching 38 to 39%; looking at the last 10 years, the investment value was approximately IDR9,100 trillion,” Rosan added.
He explained that Bappenas (National Development Planning Agency) has set a target requiring Indonesia to secure investments exceeding IDR13,000 trillion over the next five years to achieve 8% economic growth.
“That is the target given to us by Bappenas so that we can reach 8% growth by 2029,” he said.
Rosan stated that realized investment in 2024 stood at approximately IDR1,714 trillion and is set to rise to IDR1,931 trillion in 2025.
He added that the incoming investment is expected to increase and create jobs for the general public. Furthermore, the investment must be of high quality.
“The most important thing, of course, is how the incoming funds can create jobs. Last year, approximately 2.4 million jobs were created. And looking ahead, the investments we bring in must certainly be high-quality investments,” he concluded. [antaranews/special photo]
