MINISTRY of Tourism & Creative Economy invites travel lovers especially cultural tourism to get to know more of the five world-based cultural heritage sites in Indonesia through the webinar series “Heritage Tourism” which will take place on May 14, 2020 at 14.00 WIB.

The five cultural-based world heritage sites are the Borobudur Temple Complex, the Prambanan Temple Complex, Sangiran Ancient Man Site, the Bali Subak System as a Manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy, and finally the Ombilin Sawahlunto Coal Mine.

According to the Deputy for Tourism Products and Organizers of Tourism and Creative Economy Events, Rizki Handayani in his statement in Jakarta said, cultural heritage is one of the main reasons for foreign and domestic tourists to travel in Indonesia when the COVID-19 pandemic conditions subside and allow travel back.

Through this webinar, it is expected that the public can get to know more about the existing values so that they can support sustainability economically, socially, and environmentally,” Rizki Handayani said.

She explained, not only knowing more about existing cultural-based world heritage sites, through this webinar it was hoped that the community could pass on the information they could to the wider community. One of them is through social media.

“Therefore, this webinar will also be given knowledge about the” technique “of conveying these values through story telling on social media in ways and methods that can add to the traveling experience and attract people to visit it,” she noted.

Through this media, she continued, these values can be conveyed narrative either through visuals, audio, photo caption/text, or a combination of the three methods.

“Narratives that are built through good storytelling will be able to provide good education to the public, add to the experience of visiting tourists, to build curiosity for people to visit these sites later,” Rizki Handayani concluded.
