TOURISM MINISTRY AIMS FOR ASIAN TOURIST VISIT FROM TITF EVENT

THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is targeting the visit of Asian foreign tourists to Indonesia from the exhibition and tourism exchange of the Thai International Travel Fair (TITF) which took place at IMPACT, Bangkok, Thailand on January 16-19, 2020 last week.

According to Deputy Assistant for Marketing Development 1 Regional 1 Kemenparekraf Dessy Ruhati in Bangkok, said Kemenparekraf facilitated 7 tourism businesses from various regions in Indonesia to participate in the biggest B to C (business to consumer) tourism exhibition in Thailand which was participated by around 300 tourism industries and NTO (National Tourist Organization), mostly from Asia (mostly from Japan), the Wonderful Indonesia booth is aggressively promoting tourism products in leading destinations.

“The intended destinations include Bali and 5 super priority destinations Lake Toba, Likupang, Borobudur, Mandalika, and Labuan Bajo. During the 4-day exhibition, Indonesian tourism businesses received 192 appointments with 510 potential pax worth IDR2.6 billion,” said Dessy.

She added, the Wonderful Indonesia booth which occupies an area of ​​60 m2 (for 10 booths) is equipped with a refreshment corner and gift exchange facilities. In addition to conducting business transactions, the Kemenparekraf team intensively provides tourism information services to visitors of the exhibition.

Dessy explained, this TITF event was important in attracting tourists from Thailand. Thailand is a potential market for Indonesian tourism. Last year contributed 162,000 foreign tourists or above the target set at 152,000 foreign tourists.

In this year’s TITF, participants participated in approximately 300 tourism industries and NTO, most of whom were participants from Asian countries where Japan was the largest participant. While for 4 days pamerah the number of visitors who were present was estimated at 225,000 people.

“During the 4-day exhibition, the Wonderful Indonesia booth was visited by many exhibition visitors. The visitors are mostly young people aged 20-40 years coming from Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. They work as civil servants, professionals, entrepreneurs, students and students,” Dessy added.

Most of them have visited Indonesia with a 4-7 day stay. The favorite tourist destinations for visitors to the exhibition are Bali, Jakarta, Joglosemar (Jogja, Solo, Semarang) and Lombok. While the activities they enjoy are adventure, culture, and shopping. [traveltext.id]
