INDONESIAN Government through the Minister of Health Decree has officially legalized the health protocol in the tourism sector and the creative economy that has been prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with stakeholders and related ministries.
The parekraf sector health protocol was ratified through Minister of Health Decree Number HK.01.08/Menkes/382/2020 concerning Health Protocol for Communities in Public Places and Facilities in the Context of Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to the Deputy for Strategic Policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, R. Kurleni Ukar in his statement on Monday (6/22/2020) said health protocols in the tourism sector and creative economy were prepared based on three main issues. Namely cleanliness, health, and safety.
The KMK regulates protocols for hotels/inns/homestays/hostels and the like, restaurants, tourist attraction locations, modes of transportation, creative economic services, event/meeting organizing services, as well as other public places and facilities that are closely related with the tourism sector and the creative economy. Furthermore, the protocol can be used as a reference for all parties, namely ministries/institutions, provincial regional governments, district/city governments, and the community. Includes associations, managers, owners, workers and visitors to public places and facilities.
The presence of this health protocol is expected to support the plan to open a tourism business and creative economy gradually so that it can revive the tourism business and the creative economy, the sector most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, decisions related to the reopening of the tourism business must certainly be adjusted to the level of risk of the spread of COVID-19 and the region’s ability to control COVID-19.
“Local governments and tourism and creative economy businesses are expected to be able to prepare and implement health protocols in accordance with a decision signed by the Minister of Health,” Kurleni Ukar said.
Meawhile the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandio appreciated the approval of the health health protocol in the tourism sector and the creative economy contained in the KMK on Health Protocol for Communities in Public Places and Facilities in the Framework of Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“Legalization is done through a single door by the Minister of Health so that the protocol is harmonized with other ministries/institutions. The health protocol is officially released by the Ministry of Health so that it becomes a common reference and there are no ministries/institutions that issue it independently but coordinated,” Wishnutama noted.
Tourism Minsitryf has also prepared technical guidelines both in the form of videos or handbooks that refer to global standards. This handbook is a more detailed derivative of the protocol just signed by the Ministry of Health so that it will be easy for the tourism sector and the creative economy to carry out its activities.
“This is very important because tourism is a business that is very dependent on the confidence of domestic and international tourists. Gaining trust or confidence is the key in accelerating the recovery, so it must be highly considered and implemented,” he said.
He stressed President Joko Widodo’s message that this protocol be implemented properly and not in a hurry. So that later on when the tourism sector and creative economy are opened can be productive and remain safe from COVID-19. That is fundamental in the direction of the president. [traveltext.id]
