RIYADH AIR, NEW ROUTE TO JAKARTA CONTINUE RAPID NETWORK ACROSS ASIA

RIYADH AIR, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier announced the opening of ticket sales for its new direct services to Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Jakarta service, commencing on November 16, 2026, represents significant milestones in Riyadh Air’s rapid expansion across Asia and brings Riyadh Air’s total destinations on sale to 16 as it builds a global network connecting major commercial and cultural hubs through Riyadh.

According to Tony Douglas, Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Air, said opening ticket sales for Jakarta marks another important milestone in Riyadh Air’s rapid global expansion across Asia.

“This destination reflects our strategic commitment to linking key global markets through Riyadh, driving business and tourism in line with Vision 2030, and delivering an exceptional, digitally led experience aboard our state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. We look forward to adding more flights to this route soon as demand continues to grow,” he said.

Tony explained that commencing November 16, 2026, Riyadh Air will operate three weekly flights between King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK) in Jakarta.

“Flights depart Riyadh at 10:50 PM and arrive in Jakarta at 12:00 PM the following day, with the return service departing Jakarta at 3:00 PM and arriving in Riyadh at 8:15 PM local time,” he affirmed.

Connecting the capitals of two G20 nations, the direct service supports accelerating trade, corporate travel, and diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Southeast Asia’s largest economy. Total bilateral trade reached US$6.6 billion in 2025 and US$2.6 billion in the first half of 2026 alone, backed by robust automotive exchange exceeding US$1.7 billion annually.

As Saudi Arabia’s capital and commercial hub, Riyadh gives travelers from Jakarta direct access to the country’s modern attractions, cultural landmarks, and dynamic economic landscape. With Riyadh Air, passengers can also connect onward to Jeddah, the main gateway to Makkah and Madinah.

The new route provides an important link for government and corporate travel while making Hajj and Umrah journeys more convenient for Indonesian travelers.  It also serves a significant market opportunity, with Indonesia’s Hajj quota reaching 203.149 pilgrims in 2026.

“The new service positions King Khalid International Airport as a major transportation hub, providing seamless onward connections through Riyadh Air’s growing global network. It makes it easier for travelers from Indonesia to reach major business, education, fashion, and tourism hubs across Europe as part of a single journey. From Jakarta, passengers can connect seamlessly to London, Manchester, Madrid, and Milan,” Tony Douglas concluded. [sources/photo special]
