PT TWC INTRODUCED BOROBUDUR & PRAMBANAN TEMPLES TO INTERNATIONAL

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko are committed to introducing the Indonesian “World Heritage” Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple to the international level through the “Twin World Heritage” Program.

According to the President Director of PT TWC Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko Edy Setijono in Sleman said this program was an effort initiated and carried out by PT TWC to increase the ‘awareness’ of foreign tourists and align ‘World Heritage’ in Indonesia with 10 versions of ‘World Heritage’ destinations: Trip Advisor.

“This program collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in several countries. The ‘Twin World Heritage’ program is one of PT TWC’s flagship programs, in which PT TWC brings Borobudur and Prambanan temples to the international level by collaborating between management of world cultural heritage sites in the world,” he said.

Edy said, the forms of cooperation carried out include “joint promotions”, human resource development for World Heritage management, “joint exhibitions”, “exchange markets” and cultural exchanges.

“The ‘Twin World Heritage’ program has been implemented since 2017, there are those who have collaborated to date, namely, PT TWC with the Archaelogical Survey of India (ASI) managing the Taj Mahl (India) on cooperation in Promotion, Marketing, Education of the World Cultural Heritage of Temples. Prambanan and Taj Mahl on July 28, 2018,” he noted.

Then the collaboration between PT TWC and the Apsara National Authority Management of Angkor Wat (Cambodia) regarding the cooperation in the management of two World Cultural Heritage Sites, Borobudur Temple and Angkor Wat on July 20, 2019.

Then with the “Direção Geral do Património Cultural” (DGPC), the organizer of the Batalha Monastery (Portugal) regarding the “Twin World Heritage” Program Cooperation between Borobudur Temple and the Batalha Monastery on September 30, 2019 and the Borobudur-Machu Picchu Temple, Peru which is currently still in progress. process.

“This cooperation marks the joint efforts of the two governments to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of culture and cultural heritage. This cooperation will place a special emphasis on promoting cultural tourism destinations, encouraging the preservation of heritage sites as well as facilitating cultural exchanges. This cooperation will serves as a common platform to share development experiences on human resources, tourism products and general communication strategies between the two parties,” Edy added.

In addition, it is also a forum for creating synergies and generating innovative ideas that will one day bring long-term benefits to both sites.
