THE Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy invites the Indonesia Inbound Tour Operator Association (IINTOA) to develop the potential of tourism villages.
According to the Deputy for Institutional Resources of Tourism Minsitry, Wisnu Bawa Tarunajaya, in an online seminar entitled ‘Socialization of the Institutional and Professional BPW Tourism Workers’, Tuesday (5/5), explained that tourist villages are part of sustainable tourism development and become one of the Government’s programs. Government is expected to accelerate the revival of tourism and trigger economic growth.
Therefore, Wisnu encourages industry players, especially IINTOA, to help develop the potential of tourist villages, in order to stimulate tourism in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have a tourism village assistance program, we really need all IINTOA members to get together how we can give tourism friends the opportunity to promote their products through IINTOA’s platform. So this is the importance for us to collaborate. So, we ask for IINTOA’s help with industry players. IINTOA knows the most effective steps to promote this tourism village,” said Wisnu.
Furthermore, Wisnu explained that alternative tourism is currently a trend for tourists. Alternative tourism is a tourism concept that is more friendly to nature and local people, which cannot be obtained when visiting ordinary tourist destinations. Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to explore the potential of tourist villages.
“So, we can make this tourist village an alternative tourism destination, because the current condition is very appropriate to choose a tourist village to become a tourism destination whose advantages are having these natural and cultural products,” Wisnu noted.
Wisnu asked IINTOA to help make a customer behavior analysis which aims to find out what is needed by domestic and foreign tourists when visiting a tourist village.
“This analysis is very important to know what local and foreign tourists want. Now, when the analysis is ready we will go to the field as a mentoring program, estimated in May or the end of June. Later we will choose how many tourist villages we collect the managers. We hope that representatives of IINTOA and Panorama will also provide understanding for them to prepare their products,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ricky Setiawanto, Secretary General of the IINTOA Tourism Operators Association, explained that his party is ready to support the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy to develop tourism villages in terms of marketing.
“We, from IINTOA, will help in terms of marketing, because now there are many tourist villages but also many who do not know how to market it,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
