MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, ensured that the progress of the construction of the Mandalika Circuit and special economic zones had complied with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as a guide.
“Besides the ministry itself has strict guidelines, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) with multilateral funding adheres to the ESG,” said Sandiaga while reviewing the Mandalika circuit in Kuta Village, Central Lombok Regency in his written statement recently.
During the visit, Sandiaga also received the handover of the 6.5 hectare land acquisition in Penlok 2 (location assignment two) for the MotoGP circuit from National Land Agency (BPN). Likewise with Penlok 1 (location assignment one), whose compensation has already been paid.
“Therefore, this visit will not only ensure that infrastructure development runs, the environmental and socio-economic aspects of the community and tourism playerrs in Nusa Tenggara Barat (West Nusa Tenggara) are reorganized. People who receive compensation for land payments will be assisted and given training for business,” he stated.
Sandiaga explained, starting November this year for Superbike until next year Mandalika will begin to be visited by thousands of people. This is an opportunity for the community. In addition, to ensure the success of organizing this international event, vaccination and the implementation of Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) in tourist destinations have proven to be recognized by the international community since the Bali Democracy Forum was held.
“And enforcement of health protocols must never stop,” said Sandiaga.
During a visit to the Mandalika circuit, Sandiaga explained the process of paving the first layer of the 4.3 kilometer circuit and the payment of 29 plots of land for residents with the support of the state asset management agency.
Sandiaga added that Penlok 2 (location assignment two) which is allocated as supporting facilities will have very open access for the community as basic infrastructure after an international event as support for the Ministry of Tourism in the economic recovery of NTB. [traveltext.id]
