COVID-19 PANDEMIC RISE, BOROBUDUR TEMPLE TOURISM PARK IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur (PT TWC), Prambanan and Ratu Boko has again temporarily closed the operation of the Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, in Magelang Regency, Central Java.

According to the Acting General Manager of the Borobudur Unit, Jamaludin Mawardi in a press release in Magelang, Tuesday (6/29), conveying that the closure will begin on June 29, 2021 following the determination of Magelang Regency to become a red zone on Monday (28/6).

This closure is to support the implementation of the Micro PPKM in order to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19, especially in the Magelang Regency area in accordance with the Circular Letter of the Regional Secretary of Magelang Regency number 440.1/1926/01.01/2021 dated 28 June 2021 regarding the implementation of the Eling lan Ngelingke Movement (remember and remind each other) as well as a Circular of the Head of the Youth and Sports Tourism Office of Magelang Regency.

“Following the direction of the Magelang Regent by paying attention to the development of the epidemiological situation in the area, PT TWC supports the temporary closure of the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park and hopes that through the closure it will be a participation in the pandemic and economic recovery process in Magelang Regency,” he said.

He conveyed that during this closure, PT TWC also continued to carry out preventive activities in reducing efforts to spread COVID-19.

“This is done by keeping the environment clean and spraying disinfectants in the destination area as a form of commitment to the CHSE certification we received from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy,” said Jamaludin.
