PT ANGKASA Pura I (AP I) has adjusted the implementation of health protocols at a number of airports to respond to the surge in COVID-19 cases in several regions.
According to AP I President Director Faik Fahmi explained at I Gusti Ngurah Bali Airport, the tightening was carried out through engineering the passenger departure flow which had begun on June 16, 2021. The engineering of the departure flow was aimed at checking flight conditions in more detail and detail.
“Meanwhile, at SAMS Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, the airport manager is collaborating with the Balikpapan City COVID-19 Task Force to conduct random antigen tests for passengers passing through the airport,” he said.
He added that to anticipate the occurrence of falsification of flight requirements documents by prospective passengers, the AP I airport branch office also coordinated with local stakeholders to tighten inspections to establish new policies related to COVID-19 free information documents for these flight requirements.
For other regional destinations, Faik Fahmi continued, based on the circular letter (SE) COVID-19 Task Force No.12/2021 concerning Provisions for Traveling Domestic People during the COVID-19 Pandemic, every airplane passenger must show a certificate of negative results from the RT-PCR test. the sample is taken within a maximum period of 3 x 24 hours before departure or a negative result of a rapid antigen test whose sample is taken within a maximum period of 2 x 24 hours before departure or a negative result of the GeNose C-19 test whose sample is taken on the day of departure.
“In the midst of the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, we are working hard to tighten the implementation of health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at 15 airports, carried out consistently and with discipline. This is aimed at breaking the chain of the spread of COVID-19 with its various variants,” he stressed.
To ensure the implementation of health protocols at airports, airport officers are assigned to carry out direct checking patrols throughout the terminal area of each airport. The things that are monitored and ensured are the use of masks, maintaining a minimum distance of 2 meters in all airport areas, cleaning facilities that are usually touched by service users are carried out regularly using disinfectant liquid, and ensuring the availability of hand sanitizers in the airport area. Supervision is also carried out through CCTV cameras centralized in the control room so that when there are undisciplined passengers, officers can immediately approach and remind the passengers.
