MILLENNIALS ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN BUILDING EXCELLENT TOURISM VILLAGES

INDONESIA’S Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy invites the millennial generation, especially those in Agam Regency, West Sumatra, to participate in building a superior and competitive tourist village, with a variety of creativity, thus providing great benefits for the community.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno in a webinar with the Regent of Agam and the Association of Indonesian Creative Villages with the theme ‘Generating Creative Nagari for the New Karajo Field in Salingka Maninjau Lake’, online, in Jakarta, Friday (7/2) night, said the Village besides being a driver of the community’s economy, this tourism is also one of the very strategic program villages to ensure that the millennial and Z generations can get incentives through training and assistance programs in increasing competence.

“So that we can present a superior and sustainable tourist village, with various ideas, ideas, and creative innovations of young people. Based on the 2020 population census, millennials and generation Z are recorded to dominate 53% or around 90 million people of the Indonesian population. Therefore, the participation of millennial and Z generations is needed to help one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in building tourist villages in Indonesia,” he said.

Furthermore, Minister Sandiaga also encouraged the government of Agam Regency, West Sumatra to be able to actively participate in the Tourism Village Award (ADWI) 2021. Because through this prestigious event, it is expected to encourage regional development and community welfare.

Like wise, Deputy Minister of Villages Development of Disadvantaged Areas and Transmigration (PDTT), Budi Arie Setiadi, said that the key to the development of creative villages must be started from the community or local residents, especially the young people.

“I believe and I believe that the creativity of young people is extraordinary, young people are able to produce brilliant and limitless ideas. Because what we need is innovation and breakthroughs that are out of the box,” he concluded. [traveltext.id]
