THE INDONESIA’S Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, wants the PeduliLindungi application to be developed into a digital payment tool. Luhut said Indonesia had previously succeeded in working on digital payment tools through QRIS which was initiated by Bank Indonesia.
“Karya Kreatif Indonesia is proven to be able to build premium products with digital payment systems through QRIS. So now it’s wide. Later, maybe we can try to put it into PeduliLindungi digital, any kind of platform can be entered,” said Luhut as quoted from Bank Indonesia’s YouTube show recently.
The use of PeduliLindungi as a payment system is a support to increase digital financial inclusion in order to expand the market for local products, such as Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). That way, the Indonesian digital market will be more prepared and competitive both from the upstream and downstream sides.
Luhut pointed out that Indonesia must show the world that the country is capable of solving various problems with the latest initiatives. We show the world that Indonesia has changed, not 10 or 7 years ago. Indonesia is a strong new Indonesia that looks to a better tomorrow,.
Regarding the development of the local product market, Luhut continued, Bank Indonesia’s initiative to initiate the Indonesian Creative Work program since 2016 has continued to progress. I believes this program will encourage players to produce products that can compete on a global scale and move up in class. [bisnis.com/photo special]
