THE GOVERNMENT will tighten the arrival of international travelers from air, sea and land. The effort is to prevent the import of Omicron cases which continues to grow in Indonesia.
“In the future, the government will make special handling at nine entry points in Indonesia,” said the spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito in a written statement, Wednesday,(1/12).
The nine points are Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten; Juanda Airport, East Java; and Sam Ratulangi Airport, North Sulawesi. Then Batam Port, Riau Islands; Tanjung Pinang Port, Riau Islands; and Nunukan Harbor, North Kalimantan.
Tightening was also carried out at cross-border posts (PLBN), namely PLBN Aruk, West Kalimantan and PLBN Entikong, West Kalimantan. Then, Motaain PLBN, East Nusa Tenggara.
Wiku said the government would also record more comprehensive COVID-19 cases. This is done by distinguishing cases of COVID-19 from travelers from cases in the surrounding area as a whole.
“This is important to become the basis for making policies to control community mobility,” he concluded. [antaranews/photo special]
