JAS AIRPORT SERVICES SUPPORTS FLIGHT RECOVERY FOR 11 AIRLINES TO RI

PT JASA Angkasa Semesta (JAS Airport Services) supports the operational services of 11 international and domestic airlines to restore flights or resumption flights to Indonesia (RI) which had been suspended since early 2020 due to the impact of the pandemic.

“Since the beginning of this year, 12 scheduled flights from 11 international and domestic airlines have re-opened their flights to Indonesia, along with the opening of several airports following the recovery from the impact of the global pandemic,” said Corporate Communication Manager JAS Airport Services Ageng Wibowo in an official statement in Jakarta, Friday (4/01).

With the flight recovery, JAS Airport Services again provides services both ground handling and cargo handling at various airports, such as Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Cengkareng, Kertajati Majalengka Airport, Juanda International Airport Surabaya, and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar.

He hopes that the resumption of international flights at various Indonesian international airports can restore growth in the aviation sector which has experienced a decline in the last two years, since COVID-19 hit in early 2020.

In addition, it is hoped that this resumption flight can again move the Indonesian economic sector, especially before the month of Ramadan, where transportation and cargo are expected to gradually recover ahead of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri.

JAS Airport Services also hopes to play its role in contributing to the growth of the aviation industry at Indonesian airports after the pandemic, as well as national economic growth.

The resumption flight in early 2022 begins with a Cebu Airlines flight on February 4 with the Cebu-Jakarta-Cebu route flying three times a week, then followed by a twice weekly Singapore Airlines flight for the Singapore-Denpasar-Singapore route on 16 February.

Jetstar Asia Airways has also returned to fly from Singapore-Denpasar-Singapore with a frequency of three times a week since 4 March.

In addition, Trigana Air and Malaysia Airlines (Kuala Lumpur-Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur), Jetstar Airways (Melbourne-Denpasar-Melbourne), Air Asia Malaysia and Air Asia Indonesia (Kuala Lumpur-Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur), Turkish Airlines (Istanbul- Denpasar-Istanbul), and Oman Air (Muscat – Jakarta – Muscat).
