MORE foreign airlines are opening flight routes to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The newest airline is Viet Jet from Vietnam to open a round-trip Hanoi-Denpasar flight route.
The airline from the Southeast Asian country opened the inaugural Hanoi-Denpasar PP route every day for 7 days since last Friday (3/6). The Hanoi-Denpasar route is the second route after Singapore-Denpasar which is served by Viet Jet. This route adds to the list of foreign airlines that open flights to Bali.
A total of 18 airlines currently operates at Ngurah Rai Airport and serve 19 destinations to 11 countries. The inaugural Viet Jet flight for the Hanoi-Denpasar route uses an Airbus A321 type aircraft with a capacity of 230 passengers.
“We are enthusiastic about welcoming the Hanoi – Denpasar route, which is served by the Viet Jet airline,” said GM PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan.
Viet Jet first landed at Ngurah Rai Airport at 16.25 WITA and departed for Hanoi at 17.30 WITA. On the inaugural flight, Viet Jet carried 149 passengers and returned to Hanoi with 45 passengers.
Based on data as of May 2022, Ngurah Rai Airport serves 236,665 international passengers with an average of 7,634 passengers per day.
Airport authorities continue to encourage foreign and domestic airlines to open favorite routes to revive tourism in Bali and Indonesia as a whole.
