TRANSNUSA WILL OPEN NEW ROUTE FROM OCTOBER 6 AS A LOW-COST AIRLINE

WELCOMING the revival of the Indonesian aviation industry, PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri (TransNusa) opened a new domestic route that will connect Jakarta-Bali and Jakarta-Yogyakarta. Ticket sales for the new route are officially opened starting Wednesday (9/28).

TransNusa opened sales by offering special discounts of up to 25% for prospective passengers who ordered tickets from September 28 to October 5, 2022.

TransNusa will serve flights from Jakarta (CGK) to Bali (DPS) 5 times a day to go home with prices starting from IDR800,000 for one way and Jakarta (CGK) to Yogyakarta (YIA) 2 times a day to go home with prices starting from IDR500,000 one way, starting October 6, 2022.

Operating since 2005, TransNusa is an Indonesian airline that has served eastern Indonesia, especially Nusa Tenggara-Bali and southern Sulawesi. In August 2011, TransNusa entered a new stage by receiving its own Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and scheduled commercial flight permits.

This company has transformed and is ready to provide air transportation services with the concept of a low-cost carrier (LCC).

According to the President Director of TransNusa, Bayu Sutanto, said now is the right moment for the company considering the large increase in passenger capacity from year to year and the increase in community mobility after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We also see the need for air transportation service options. In line with TransNusa’s commitment to continue to support connectivity, encourage the development of national tourism and accelerate economic recovery after the pandemic, we are ready to enliven the Indonesian sky again,” Bayu said.

He hopes that with the LCC flight concept, TransNusa can help make it easier for people to complete their air transportation needs and become the best option, especially for those who want to take domestic flights from or to Bali, Jakarta and Yogyakarta.

TransNusa will operate using the new AIRBUS A320neo fleet with a capacity of 168 passengers and provide free 20 kg of baggage for all domestic flights.

TransNusa offers 3 options for bundling ticket types called SEAT for the most standard choice, SEATPLUS which is predicted to be the most popular because passengers can choose a seat number and get food, and FLEXIPRO which provides full service even up to the flexibility of changing flight dates and hours. In addition, the airline also provides a variety of pre-booked meals.

Meanwhile Director of TransNusa Leo Budiman added, in order to answer the needs and demands of domestic flights, airlines in Indonesia need to implement strategic steps that can make them the best option for the community in carrying out air mobility.

“We think the capacity of 168 passengers for the A320neo type fleet is ideal. Not too little but not too much so that it allows TransNusa to have flight seats with wider legroom compared to LCC airlines in general,” he noted.

In addition, Leo continued, travel costs and various comfort services can be selected and adjusted to the needs and preferences of passengers.

The airline chose the A320neo into its fleet due to convenience considerations, which are more environmentally friendly. The ability of the A320neo engine is known to have an engine that is more fuel efficient as much as 20% and produces fewer emissions (CO2). The engines in this fleet are also designed to reduce noise by up to 75% so that the cabin is quieter.

“Flight tickets with TransNusa can now be purchased through the airline’s official website at transnusa.co.id and through travel agents and other official ticket sales. The airline’s customer care can be contacted at 021-63108888.” Leo concluded.

As a player in the air transportation industry, TransNusa hopes to be a big supporter of the growth of the aviation industry. Data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in June stated that air passengers were expected to reach 83% of pre-pandemic levels by 2022.

Based on the latest data from the Ministry of Industry, the number of passengers flying in Indonesia is currently estimated to increase by 30% from the previous year. This growth is predicted to make Indonesia the sixth largest transportation market by 2034. [sources/photo special]
