PRESIDENT Director of the National Airline Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, invited the Indonesian people to visit and promote various domestic tourist destinations to support the national economic recovery.
“I invite Garuda friends who are present to prioritize traveling in Indonesia. Because your trip in Indonesia will certainly help the economic recovery of our brothers in other areas,” said Irfan at ICE BSD, Friday (10/28).
According to him, Bali is one of the primadonna for domestic tourism, although it had declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, along with the increase in tourism in Bali, Irfan invites the Indonesian people to visit domestic destinations in other regions.
He gave an example, for example, Labuan Baju, Lombok, Makassar, and Manado can be another alternative for people to vacation in the country and get new experiences when traveling in these locations.
To support the proud movement to travel to domestic destinations, one of the steps taken by Garuda is to re-organize the GATF 2022 travel exhibition which provides various attractive offers for the public in the form of discounts, holiday packages, to cashback.
“Indeed, there are several promos abroad, but we really want the domestic trip to be chosen by our friends,” Irfan remarked.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, the Government has specifically invited people in Indonesia to support domestic tourism, considering that the tourism sector is one of the most affected by the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
This method has also succeeded in encouraging economic recovery in the tourism sector, and now the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as the leader of the tourism sector is now targeting an increase in the movement of domestic tourists to 1.4 billion in 2023. [antaranews/photo special]
