THE INDONESIAN Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will continue to strive to present increasingly high quality and sustainable tourism in various tourist destinations in Indonesia. One of them is the Komodo National Park, Labuan Bajo, NTT as a super priority tourism destination (DPSP).
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, at the Year-End Press Conference (JPAT) at Balairung Soesilo Soedarman, Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Monday (12/26) said, even though the government had canceled the increase in entrance tickets to TN Komodo, the area’s conservation efforts remain the main focus of the relevant ministries/agencies.
“Of course the government realizes that tourism is just emerging, but quality and sustainable tourism will be a necessity. Therefore, we will prioritize conservation costs. Here, cross ministries and agencies will coordinate to present steps so that infrastructure development can run smoothly. we will continue to prepare it in Komodo National Park, it will not interfere with sustainable tourism activities,” said Sandiaga.
Apart from the Komodo National Park, plans to build a cable car or cable car in tourist destinations such as Rinjani, NTB and Puncak, West Java will also be encouraged by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Because this cable car can be an alternative transportation that is environmentally friendly.
“Especially for Puncak, because the congestion at Puncak is extraordinary. And yesterday the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency conducted an initial study and provided recommendations for a budget for the automatic train and cable car of IDR7.3 trillion. However, the Bogor Regional Government is still assessing and reviewing the budget,” Sandiaga stated.
Investors from Saudi Arabia, according to Sandiaga, have shown their interest in investing in the development of the cable car. This is based on the results of the Menparekraf working visit to Saudi Arabia some time ago.
“Therefore, of course we encourage the acceleration of preparations for this cable car to be realized not only in Bogor but also in several other tourist destinations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism’s Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development, Vinsensius Jemadu, explained the Ministry’s efforts to anticipate the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in welcoming the 2022/2023 Christmas and New Year holidays.
“We have issued an appeal to all heads of regional tourism offices to pay attention to a number of things in anticipation of this Christmas holiday,” said Vinsen.
Among them the local government must ensure the implementation of health protocols, both managers and visitors; readiness of officers and managers in tourism services at tourist attractions; improve security services for tourist sites such as the availability of tour guides and information officers; coordinate with related parties such as BNPB, Basarnas, police, and other related parties; as well as check and recheck for facilities at destinations and at tourist attractions.
This appeal needs to be prioritized to ensure security, safety and disaster mitigation in tourist destinations, given that the weather is extreme and prone to disasters. [traveltext.id]
