TOURISM MINISTRY PARTNERS TRAVELOKA TO DEVELOP PAREKRAF SECTOR

THE MINISTRY of Tourism and Creative Economy has once again collaborated with Traveloka to work together to develop and strengthen the tourism and creative economy sector (parekraf) through programs that are right on target, right on benefits, and right on time.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Deputy for Marketing of Tourism Ministry, Ni Made Ayu Marthini and Traveloka’s Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations and Sustainability, Widyasari Listyowulan.

According to Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno and Co-Founder of Traveloka, Albert also witnessed the MoU signing procession which took place at Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (01/24), 2023.

The scope of cooperation with Traveloka includes digital training for Tourism and creative economy human resources, promotion of tourist destinations, strengthening digitalization, and supporting the holding of events.

By continuing the cooperation between the Tourism Ministry and Traveloka, which has been closely intertwined since 2018, Sandiaga is optimistic that the achievement of targets in the tourism and creative economy sector, especially foreign tourist visits and the movement of tourists #DiIndonesiaAja can be met.

“Where in 2023, tourism foreign exchange is targeted between US$2.07 billion-US$5.95 billion. Foreign tourist visits amounted to 3.5 million-7.4 million visits. Archipelago tourists of 1.2 billion-1.4 billion movements. But most importantly, the employment we want to create is 4.4 million new jobs until 2024,” Sandiaga said.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ni Made Ayu Marthini added that this collaboration will focus more on the generation Z market segment. Where after the post-pandemic generation Z is considered agile and adaptive which makes them able to work in any destination and at any time.

“This is an asset or opportunity for us to explore, utilize, and provide a variety of interesting information (about tourism and the creative economy), so that besides working anywhere, they can travel anywhere. So, this is a very good and new collaboration we have with Traveloka,” Ayu Marthini said.

Likewise, Traveloka Co-Founder Albert said that in promoting tourist destinations, it will mainly be strengthened in the five super priority tourism destinations. And also, we can develop events, especially events at Kharisma Event Nusantara, which can be promoted again not only domestically but for the global community.

Meanwhile, Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations and Sustainability Traveloka, Widyasari Listyowulan, added that Traveloka is ready to support and succeed the programs of the Ministry of Tourism. “Of course, this is not the last cooperation, but we hope that in the future there will be more collaborations that we can do together,” Widyasari concluded.
