THE ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 international event will soon be held in Yogyakarta from February 2-5, 2023. The Yogyakarta Special Region Police (DIY) began preparing personnel for the event, which will be attended by ministers and high-ranking officials from ASEAN member countries.
One of the agendas at the event, which will be opened by President Joko Widodo, will invite traveling delegations from various countries to various destinations in five regencies/cities in the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) in pre-tour and post-tour activities.
“For one region or Yogyakarta City alone, personnel are prepared at least 300 members, especially in vital objects and organizing locations,” said Yogyakarta Police spokesman, Adjunct Police Commissioner Timbul Sasana Raharjo, recently.
That means, if the delegates will visit destinations in five DIYregencies/cities, the distribution for security can only be multiplied.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the DIY Tourism Office, Anita Verawati said that at this event there are at least two countries that have stated that they will be absent or not send their representatives.
“For this event, Timor Leste and Myanmar have confirmed that they cannot send their representatives,” Anita concluded. [sources/photo special]
