GARUDA INDONESIA FOCUSES ON BRINGING FOREIGN TOURISTS TO INDONESIA

GARUDA Indonesia airlines are currently focusing on bringing foreign tourist passengers to Indonesia, rather than bringing domestic tourists abroad.

According to Garuda Indonesia President Director, Irfan Setiaputra recently said we will focus more on bringing foreign tourists to Indonesia, rather than taking Indonesians abroad.

“To support this goal, the company will prioritize the opening of domestic routes according to existing demand, and plans to increase the frequency of flights to and from Denpasar, Bali. So if there are additional aircraft and demand, of course we will prioritize the addition of frequencies and destinations on domestic routes,” said Irfan.

The information, said Irfan, is that in the near future Garuda Indonesia will work on the Denpasar-Manado-Narita route. Later, planes flying from Denpasar will first stop by Manado before flying back to Narita, Japan. And vice versa. That way, foreign tourists have a greater opportunity to explore domestic tourist destinations.

On the other hand, under certain conditions, Garuda Indonesia will also enter the international market by adding flights from Amsterdam and seeking direct flights from China.

“We will also add flights to Amsterdam. China we are still waiting for, but there is already Guangzhou although this is not a new route, this is an old route that was reopened, but of course we will respond,” he concluded. [sources/photo special]
