ART JAKARTA organizers announced that the annual art fair will take place from November 17 to November 19, 2023 at JiExpo Kemayoran. The announcement was made following the Indonesian government’s recent decision to hold the 43rd ASEAN Summit in September at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
According to the press release, in preparation for the ASEAN Summit, the JCC management will undergo a comprehensive site renovation that will require all events scheduled at the venue including Art Jakarta 2023 to be rescheduled.
However, the new location of Art Jakarta 2023 will still provide similar facilities to support an international art fair along with segments that have become a familiar landscape of the art fair, such as Art Jakarta Galery.
This is the core segment of the art fair featuring a total of 70 galleries, including international exhibitors and new galleries that have never participated in Art Jakarta before.
In addition, there will also be Art Jakarta Spot which is a presentation platform for art installations for Art Jakarta, then AJ1 which is a segment that presents solo exhibitions curated by international galleries.
There is also AJX, a collaborative initiative between Art Jakarta and an institution or private company to present its collection at this art week to a wider audience.
Later, the organizers also present Art Jakarta Scene, a segment for artist collectives and non-profit groups from outside Jakarta to raise funds according to their respective missions.
There is also Art Jakarta NFT, dedicated to the art and community of NFT, and Art Jakarta Talks, a dialog platform between experts, observers, artists, collectors, and curators, to share experiences and knowledge with the audience. [antaranews/photo special]
