1,156 ROOMS FROM 22 HOTELS IN LABUAN BAJO PREPARED FOR ASEAN SUMMIT

THE Labuan Bajo Flores Authority (BPOLBF) said 1,156 rooms from 22 hotels and resorts in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) have been prepared for delegates and the national committee of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, May 9-11, 2023.

According to BPOLBF President Director Shana Fatina, in Labuan Bajo, in a press release on Friday (04/21) said that currently hotels and homestays have been fulfilled, delegates and national committees are placed in four- and five-star hotels in Labuan Bajo.

Shana said the holding of a large-scale event such as the ASEAN Summit is certain to bring in many tourists, namely scheduled tourists because most of them are delegates and committees from the activity.

From BPOLBF data, Shana continued, the thousands of rooms are divided into five five-star hotels and resorts, five four-star hotels and resorts, five three-star hotels and resorts, and six two-star hotels and resorts. With the current increase in hotel occupancy, BPOLBF ensures that it can have an economic impact from the tourism sector industry and other creative economies in Labuan Bajo and its surroundings.

“With the increase in tourist visits now, economically, it will certainly provide a multiplier effect not only for hotel owners, but also for the economy of farmers through the food supply chain because there will also be an increase in demand for food ingredients,” Shana remarked.

Meanwhile, Jayakarta Labuan Bajo Hotel General Manager Reynes Sahadoen said a delegation from the Philippines had planned to stay at the four-star hotel during the ASEAN Summit. Room reservations for these foreign delegates are from May 5 to May 12.

To make the international event a success in terms of accommodation, his party has also made various preparations for cleanliness, safety, and comfort for the delegation guests staying there.

The management of Jayakarta Labuan Bajo Hotel will also add casual workers or employees who work when needed in the period of May 5-12, 2023. The workers are young people who have undergone industrial internships at the hotel who help to organize 71 rooms for the foreign delegation guests as well as possible.
